The Orb, with a radius of almost seventy thousand kilometres, overwhelmingly dwarfing its closest neighbouring planet, the fungoid, iron-rich Prometheus, is one of the largest planets of the Cattus Occuli. As well as being one of the biggest worlds, at almost twenty billion years old, the Orb is one of the galaxy’s oldest planets, too. Ravaged by time, this gigantic fist of a world has suffered many collisions with various astronomical objects during its existence, leaving its surface pockmarked and torn. Meanwhile, the uncoalesced debris of an ancient moon destroyed by millennia of gravitational disturbances, haloing this giant sphere, and made up of dust, rocks and partially formed moonlets, the Orb is surrounded by a swirling, intensely violent ring system.

With several large mountain ranges, and its craggy surface pitted with steep canyons and deep craters, the Orb is a scarred, rocky planet with inconsistent seasons. Dangerous and wildly unpredictable, conditions on the Orb are in a constant state of flux as Centralis Portas feeds deep into the texture of the world an evil unbound, while countless interfering gods vie for dominance. The choking air a mixture of dust and low hanging chlorine clouds, there are vast areas of the Orb which lie blistered by centuries of intense, unforgiving heat, the sun-baked ground scorched and untouched by rainfall in decades. Contrastingly, there are other parts of the planet which are blanketed with lush vegetation as nature seems eager to offer its bountiful splendour, such lands are the envy of many.
